Disruptive
5cience™
OVERVIEW
Disruptive Science, or D5, is a foundational program built to accelerate the learning curve of every student regardless of background or experience through a scientific approach to shooting performance. Far more than a traditional firearms course, D5 integrates the disciplines of human learning, biomechanics, and neuroscience to explore how the body, brain, and weapon system function together under pressure. Each multi-day format offered in Handgun, Carbine, AK, Subgun, and Night Vision guides students toward mastering the “why” behind the “how,” transforming fundamentals into a living science of performance. The result is a mindset that transcends the range: Thinkers Before Shooters™. Students often leave with a deeper understanding not only of shooting, but of themselves discovering that the real weapon of mastery is the human behind the gun.

D5 Handgun
Disruptive Science, or D5, is designed as a foundational course to accelerate the learning curve of all students regardless of background or experience level. In a world where most shooting courses concentrate solely on the firearm, our multi-day course transcends traditional methods by integrating the science of human learning, biomechanics, ocular science, and basic physics into handgun shooting performance. This comprehensive curriculum delves into the unique challenges presented by the handgun as a weapon system and how it interacts with the mechanics of the human body.
The D5 curriculum offers an in-depth exploration of the human factors influencing both learning and performance in shooting. By enhancing our understanding of the body and brain, we facilitate a seamless transition to practical application, focusing on critical aspects such as cognitive processing, shooting technique, and overall manipulation of the handgun.

Professionals seeking higher qualification scores and repeatable operational performance.
What each student walks away with:
-
Verified zero and ballistic data package (DOPE/holdover table and zero card) for 3–300 yards — with extended-range confirmation where the range allows.
-
Shot-group analytics: measured group sizes, dispersion maps, and trend analysis to identify what to practice.
-
Range log and reproducible data sheets so you can re-create results on any range or rifle.
-
Speed-to-effect protocols that balance transition speed with consistent precision at close and intermediate distances.
-
Drills that train mechanics for fast, repeatable cheek weld, sight acquisition, trigger control, and follow-through from multiple positions.
-
Live coaching and on-the-spot diagnostics: immediate corrective cues and corrective-rep prescriptions.
-
A personal performance baseline and an actionable improvement plan (what to practice, with how many reps and what measurable targets).
-
Diagnostics for equipment: basic check of zero retention, optic alignment, and ammunition consistency as it relates to your data.
-
Confidence to apply your data in qualification scenarios, match stages, or real-world tasks.
-
Understanding the mathematical principles behind effective carbine trigger control.
-
Exploring mechanical offset of carbine optics and their practical applications.

D5 Subgun
Disruptive Science, or D5, is designed as a foundational course to accelerate the learning curve of all students regardless of background or experience level. The majority of courses within the shooting community simply focus on the gun. Our multiday course formats focus on the science of the human body, brain and Subgun/Pistol Caliber Carbines (PCC) performance. The D5 Subgun curriculum takes a deep dive into all of the human factors that affect both learning and shooting performance. Once we develop a greater understanding of the body and brain, we then progress to the application of the rifle including thinking, shooting and overall manipulation of the system. This class will explore the history, development and properties unique to Pistol Caliber Carbines and Sub machine guns.
In addition to core topics:
- Subgun PCC zero data to 200m plus utilizing proper holdovers
- Optics: non magnified vs low power variable optics
- Mathematical principles of different subgun trigger control
- Explanation of mechanical offset and application
- Weapon manipulations: speed reloads, proactive reloads and malfunction clearance
- Adaptive shooting positions and reactive movement
- Mobility block, dynamic movements, movement to different positions to shoot and shooting while moving
- Subgun/PCC Sling options and manipulation
D5 AK
Disruptive Science, or D5, is designed as a foundational course to accelerate the learning curve of all students regardless of background or experience level. In a world where most shooting courses concentrate solely on the firearm, our multi-day course transcends traditional methods by integrating the science of human learning, biomechanics, ocular science, and basic physics into AK shooting performance.
Since the AK has its own unique form and function, our D5 curriculum offers an in-depth exploration into the history and progression of this weapon system. We will also examine the human factors influencing both learning and performance in shooting. By enhancing our understanding of the body and brain, we facilitate a seamless transition to practical application, focusing on critical aspects such as cognitive processing, shooting technique, and overall manipulation of the rifle.
